Handrail Profile Replicated for Edinburgh Property

The project to extend the property and the staircase into the attic space saw Haldane replicate the profile of the current handrail to ensure it fitted seamlessly into the existing staircase.

Spiral Handrail for Mayfair Town House

Haldane has added the perfect finishing touch to an opulent 5 storey town house in London by manufacturing and installing bespoke spiral handrail which was French polished to provide a luxurious ebonized finish.

No expense was spared to deliver the feature staircase with exclusive Italian Marble, bespoke mild steel metalwork with custom paint, the use of Wenge, one of the most expensive commercially available timbers and a stunning chandelier centrepiece.

Haldane worked in conjunction with Elite Metalcraft who were commissioned to deliver the staircase.

Oak Handrail for Office Development

Haldane has manufactured, supplied and installed the oak handrails for a quayside commercial development on the West Coast of Scotland.

Normally associated with bespoke handrails and complex timber components, Haldane’s superior manufacturing capacity made them the most cost effective solution for the project.

Haldane manufactured over 60 metres of straight handrails using a 45mm diameter profile which featured a 20x5mm rebate to sit neatlyon the core rail.

Continuous Oak Handrails for Farmhouse

Haldane has manufactured and installed the continuous American White Oak handrails for stairs in the refurbishment of a luxury farmhouse in Hull.

Haldane worked alongside the metalworker who manufactured and installed the metal balustrades and core rail on the existing stone staircase which turned through 180 degrees before leading to the atrium area.

Timber Handrail on Glass Balustrade

Haldane UK has played a key part in the delivering this stunning feature helical stair by manufacturing and installing these American Black Walnut handrails to sit atop curved glass balustrades.

The project was carried out in conjunction with Clifford Chapman who were the specialist staircase contractor and completed the structural steelwork and glass balustrading.

The continuous handrail spirals up to the main atrium area which itself is a stunning feature of the double height entrance area of the luxury home in England.

Cross Banded Handrail Replacement

Haldane UK has transformed the handrail of a Victorian home by replacing the existing handrail which featured missing sections of the cross banding with a solid handrail designed to provide an exact replica of the existing profile.

Cross banding was a technique used in Victorian and Georgian times to create a profile by fixing hardwood moulding to the top of the handrail, often to disguise the softwood core section.

Timber Column Restoration Project

Haldane UK has demonstrated its breadth of timber machining expertise with the restoration of 8 timber columns for the entrance to a Victorian property in Aberdeen.

The existing columns were showing severe signs of rotting and were compromising the structural integrity of the entrance area.

Haldane manufactured the timber columns from D30 structural grade American White Oak which is kiln dried to deliver an 11% moisture content.
