Haldane UK has added the finishing touch to a spiral staircase in a luxury property in Aberdeen by installing a stunning 50mm diameter American White Oak handrail on to structural glass balustrade.

As part of the project, Haldane manufactured and installed over 10 linear metres of handrail to create the tight internal and sweeping external spirals.

The handrail twists perfectly up the staircase and flows onto the atrium area with horizontal curved handrail.

Staircase Refurbishment for Devon Home

Haldane UK has completed the refurbishment of a 2 storey staircase in a luxury home in Devon, removing the existing post to post stair and replacing it with a fully continuous Sapele handrail, slimline timber spindles and volute newels.

The client had been looking to change his existing traditional staircase with a contemporary design which would open up the area and allow more natural light from the feature window.

Continuous Timber Handrail for Luxury London Home

Haldane UK has enabled a luxury property in London’s Kensington district to create a stunning feature staircase thanks to their ability to manufacture and install complex continuous timber handrails.

The handrail was manufactured in Sapele and featured a slimline profile measuring 76mm wide by 44mm high which twisted and turned down the 3 storey staircase, requiring Haldane UK to use all of its 25 years’ experience and expertise.

Staircase Regulations for Commercial Property

Handrail to Meet Staircase Regulations for Commercial Property

Haldane UK has manufactured and installed this Sapele Handrail for a property in Glasgow which had been converted from residential to an office development and therefore required to meet with the staircase regulations for commercial property.

As the staircase was 1300mm in width, way beyond the maximum width of 1000mm as specified under Part K of the Building Regulations which apply to commercial buildings.

Stunning Oak Handrail for Top Scottish Architect

Haldane UK has manufactured and supplied its luxury timber handrails for the stunning Edinburgh home of one of award winning architect, Lorn Macneal. 

The project required Haldane UK to manufacture over 28 linear metres of 45mm circular handrail manufactured from FSC accredited European Oak.

Haldane UK’s expertise in 3 dimensional CNC machining was demonstrated by manufacturing the bends and complex transitions on solid pieces to achieve a truly continuous handrail to befit the contemporary interior design. 

Large Hollow Timber Columns from Haldane UK

Haldane has demonstrated its unrivalled ability to manufacture large hollow timber columns with its latest project for a gallery in Mayfair, London where it produced two split hollow timber columns measuring 3000mm and 3500mm in length.

The columns measured 610mm and 200mm in external diameter respectively and were manufactured in FSC Sapele and machined to a 25mm thickness.

DDA Compliant Handrail for Primary School

Haldane UK has demonstrated their full experience of continuous handrails by completing the full manufacture, supply and install of this DDA compliant timber handrail for a new primary school in Scotland.

The project saw Haldane manufactured over 170 linear metres of FSC European Oak handrail with a 50mm x 40mm easy grip elliptical profile which had been double bevelled to the underside rebate to further minimise the risk of injury. 

Bespoke Timber Handrails for Luxury London Development

Haldane UK has completed a major joinery package for a high end residential project in central London which saw the transformation of an Art Deco hotel into 48 luxury apartments over 8 storeys.

Haldane manufactured and installed over 85 linear metres of 110mm x 83mm bespoke timber handrails in American Black Walnut which was rebated to sit atop a double skin frosted glass balustrade.

Circular Timber Handrails for Wales Office Development

Haldane UK has carried out the full and supply and fit of the circular timber handrails for an office development in Wales.

The steel staircase featured structural glass balustrades and finished with Haldane’s timber handrails which were fixed via custom made connectors.

The project required absolute precision with the oak timber handrails having to be exactly 42.4mm in diameter to ensure they fitted perfectly with the stainless steel connectors.
