Haldane's Investment Pays Dividends for Treads Production

Haldane has seen a dramatic rise in its production of timber treads following the investment in its 3 axis CNC machine last year which has enabled the company to reduce costs and offer faster lead times.

The company is widely regarded as the market leader for timber handrails and glazing beads had turned away all but the most complicated of tread enquiries however its investment in its triple head 3 axis CNC machine has opened up the market for Haldane.

The company has seen a dramatic rise in both enquiries and enquiries with successful contracts including the fit out of Scottish Widows headquarters in Edinburgh and the School of Informatics at Edinburgh University as well as a number of staircases in private homes.

Haldane's General Manager, David Sinclair, explained "We never compromise on the quality of our world class products however the production of treads on the 5 axis proved to be just too expensive which meant we tended not to quote for the treads on a projects."

He continued, "Our new 3 axis machine has transformed our capabilities for producing treads, risers and landing areas whilst achieving the superior quality Haldane is known for. It is now an area where we are proving to be extremely competitive in."
