Haldane's Handrails Set Eagle Centre Soaring
Haldane has added yet another shopping centre to its retail portfolio with the installation of over 150 linear metres of American White Oak handrail in the Eagle Shopping Centre in Derby.
The contract once again demonstrates Haldane's dominance on the larger contracts where deadlines are tight and quality cannot be compromised with the installation of the Eagle Shopping Centre completed with 4 weeks of the survey.
Featuring a combination of straight, spiral and flat curve, the 167mm x 66mm profiled handrail was mounted onto structural glazed panels which Haldane surveyed using its state of the art digitising equipment to provide exact templates which can be imported directly into its machining programme.
Haldane UK 's Managing Director, Forrester Adam, explained "Speed is critical in this industry and we have invested heavily in this area in recent months with the installation of new software, equipment upgrades, process improvements and additional training for our programming team."
He continued, "The combination of all these efforts has seen dramatic improvements on our lead times and increased business in all areas from treads to spiral handrail."
Haldane's expertise in 3 axis work was also called upon to manufacture and install the treads, risers and landing strips in American White Oak.
Forrester added, "Our investment in 3 axis CNC equipment is paying significant dividends and giving our clients the opportunity to place the timber machining work with one company to maintain quality control, colour matching and lead times."
