  • Haldane UK has provided a master class in handrails as it manufactured and installed over 500 linear metres of profiled handrail as part of the £20million North Glasgow College development.

    Manufactured in American White Oak, the timber handrail was mounted on a combination of steel core rail and structural glass balustrade throughout the new college development.

  • Haldane UK's commitment to quality and customer service has paid dividends by manufacturing and installing the timber handrails for the refurbishment of  Glasgow's St Enoch Shopping Centre.

    The £100million refurbishment of Glasgow's leading shopping destination has seen significant upgrades to the timber specification with the 70mm diameter profile being changed to a 200mm x 45mm ellipse on a 15 degree angle and the timber changed from white beech to the luxurious American Black Walnut.

    Mounted on elegant architectural metalwork with decorative features, the 74mm x 63mm profile handrail oozes quality as it flows seamlessly from the atrium area through a transition ramp and down to the wreathed volute.

    Haldane used its expertise in 3 axis machining, 5 axis machining and moulding to fulfil the project to the company's superior standards.

  • Haldane UK has enabled the Dakota Hotel Group's latest venture, the Aviator Hotel, to launch in style with superb handrails manufactured from American Black Walnut and featuring integrated LED lighting.

    Haldane added its touch of class to this contemporary styled hotel in Farnborough with a 65 x 50mm elliptical handrail manufactured in American Black Walnut.

    Haldane also machined a groove in the wall side of the handrail to enable a continuous strip of LED lighting to be concealed, providing a subtle yet stunning effect for the feature staircase.

  • Haldane UK has demonstrated its expertise in timber machining with the manufacture and installation of the treads, risers and landing areas at the development of the new School of Informatics at Edinburgh University .

    Working in conjunction with leading metalwork contractors, M&S Engineering, Haldane manufactured over 300 sets of treads and risers and 17 landing areas from FSC certified European Oak for the spiral staircases in the development.
