Haldane UK, the market leading manufacturer of specialist timber handrails and fire rated glazing beads continues to set the pace in the architectural joinery market with the announcement that it has purchased 2 new machines to meet increased order levels.

Haldane revolutionised the architectural joinery market in 1996 when it invested in 2 state of the art 5 axis CNC routers propelling the company into a league of its own, with unrivalled quality levels and lead times. Its original investment transformed the company from a little-known wood-turning factory employing 14 people and a turnover of £600,000 into an internationally-acclaimed specialistwith a team of 40 and its turnover surpassing the £2.5m mark.

This investment in a further Breveti Underpinner and a Stegherr Half Lapping Machine extends our position as the UK's market leader and throws the gauntlet down to the competition as Haldane look to extend its service range as well as its manufacturing capacity.

Haldane's Production Manager, David Sinclair, said "We have recognised that our market position has been achieved by producing a vastly superior quality of product, however to maintain our position we have focussed on delivering an equally high level of customer service. Working closely with a select number of key customers we have identified an implemented an extensive improvement programme from order through to despatch and invoicing that has so far reduced lead times in some instances from 4 weeks to 10 days."

He continued "This investment will allow us to continue our commitment to our customers however the equipment also opens a new service range which we are currently trialling. If the results meet our exemplary standards, we hope to launch this service to our customers in the next few months and we expect it to boost our turnover by a further £500,000 within its first year."
