Haldane's Touch of Class

Haldane has added its superb quality finish to a stunning spiral staircase at a prestigious residential development in conjunction with Diapo one of the UK 's leading architectural metalwork contractors.

The stunning feature stair was constructed using a diverse range of materials including stone treads, acrylic balustrade, mild steel structure and 12mm toughened glass.

Haldane manufactured the 50mm diameter spiral handrail from American White Oak which was then stained to provide a luxurious black walnut finish.
Handrails at Edinburgh Usher Hall

Haldane UK has added its touch of class to one of the world's most outstanding concert halls as it manufactured and installed almost 150 linear metres of its stunning Sapele handrails to the front entrance area of Edinburgh's Usher Hall and a stunning spiral staircase to the rear of the historic building.

Working in conjunction with Edwards Engineering who were the architectural metalworkers on the project, Haldane used its advanced digitising technology to measure and plot the exact flow of the core rail that the timber handrail would sit on.
Inspiration for Finishing Your Handrail

One of the most commented upon areas of any handrail is the way in which it finishes at the bottom of the stair.

Designers are now trying to avoid using newel posts as they can disrupt the overall flow of the handrail and the staircase.

But what are the options?

Of course you can simply finish with a cut end or a profiled end which creates a rather abrupt end to what could potentially be a very elegant stair.
Helical Handrail and Stair Components From Haldane UK

Haldane has manufactured and supplied stunning bespoke spindles, newels, handrails and base rails made from European Oak with a lime finish to give the helical feature staircase an aged finish in the refurbishment of a private dwelling in Greater London.

Working in conjunction with one of the UK’s leading architectural joinery firms, Haldane UK manufactured the 45mm oak spindles to a custom design supplied by the client and a bespoke designed handrail.
Haldane Produce Stunning Timber Carvings with Arabic Writing

Haldane UK has produced twenty individual carvings each with its own Arabic writing in European Walnut for a major client in the South of England.

The panels were produced using Haldane’s market leading CNC machines which deliver the ultimate in precision in quality, however the project was not without its challenges.

Each carving required to be individually programmed by Haldane’s team of experienced programmers working from CAD drawings supplied by the project’s design team.
Bespoke Staircase for Scotland Farmhouse

Haldane UK has manufactured and installed this stunning bespoke staircase in European Oak for a refurbished farmhouse in Perthshire Scotland.

The flared staircase features a sweeping profiled handrail that spirals up from the feature wreathed volute and flows seamlessly onto the atrium level.

Featuring timber spindles, oak bull nose treads, a cut stringer and a contoured closed stringer, the stunning staircase was manufactured off site in the Haldane headquarters and then re-assembled on site with pinpoint accuracy.
Elegant Handrails Provide Perfect Finish for £1 Million Home

Just to prove that Haldane isn’t all about intricate profiles and complex components, Haldane’s latest project delivered the perfect finish for a £1million luxury home in London using a simple 70 x 45mm elliptical handrail.

Manufactured from Sapele and fitted on contemporary black metalwork, Haldane has added its stamp to the project with subtle finishing touches such as the rounded bull nose to the landing and the scrolled ram’s horn to finish at the bottom of the staircase.

Haldane UK has added a touch of grandeur to a luxury Essex home with the completion of this superb fantail European Oak staircase featuring 70mm bespoke spindles and a profiled handrail measuring 100 x 75mm.

Working in conjunction with Gary Curnick Joinery, Haldane UK manufactured the spindles, newel posts and profiled handrails to create the fabulous feature staircase and balcony area.

Haldane created a bespoke spindle based on a sketch provided by the client and these were complemented with matching 150mm newel posts.
