Haldane Completes Globe Experience.

Haldane Ltd manufacturer of specialist wooden glazing beads and handrails, has completed one of its most prestigious contracts, 400 linear metres of solid maple handrails in Globe House, the UK headquarters of British American Tobacco in London.

The handrail is pitched at 30° and therefore there are no less than 221 complex bends, which have all been made in one piece. Haldane completed the major contract to design, manufacture and install the maple handrails in just 8 weeks for the project's main contractor, Tarmac Construction.

Tarmac's Project Manager, Mathew O'Flynn, said, "The staircase has been described by many visitors as the most striking feature of the whole building and much of this is due to the quality and finish of the handrails."

Haldane Director, Forrester Adam, said, "The installation of a high quality handrail is the finishing touch to this stunning building, which reflects the quality and prestige associated with British American Tobacco."
