Success Portfolio - ArchiveHALDANE GETS A RESULT AT CHELSEA The specialised skills of the Fife firm Haldane UK Ltd. have come into play with a high-profile contract in London's Chelsea. The firm, the market leader in the manufacture and installation of specialist handrails, glazing beads and decorative wood products, has been chosen to supply and fit traditionally profiled handrails made of Brazilian mahogany to the existing feature staircase at one of the area's most prestigious addresses, 22 The Boltons. The contract, worth about £15,000 was awarded by Holloway White Allom Ltd., the 'bespoke' division of John Laing Construction Ltd., which specialises in prestige housing and office refurbishment. "The complex nature of the project demanded highly-specialised knowledge together with our state-of-the-art technology," said Forrester Adam, Haldane's Director. "The ornate wreaths, ramps and goosenecks required as the staircase winds and turns from the indoor pool at lower ground floor level up through the various floors were surveyed by digitised microscope, programmed, then formed to exacting profiles on Haldane's 5-axis capacity moulder. "The project exemplifies our ability to design and install products to an exceptionally high standard and fulfil our customers' exact requirements."
