Haldane Delight in Silverburn
It is not often that Haldane UK settles for anything less than gold however the completion of the Silverburn Shopping Centre has added another jewel in the crown of the UK 's leading timber handrail manufacturers.
The contract is the latest in a long line of shopping centres completed by Haldane UK which stretches the length and breadth of the country from West Quay in Southampton to Eastgate in Inverness as well as the Bluewater Shopping Centre, the largest retail development in the UK .
Haldane has manufactured and installed over 300 linear metres of American Cherry handrails at Scotland 's newest out of town shopping centre in Pollok, just south of Glasgow .
Managing Director, Forrester Adam, said "We are particularly delighted to have been involved in this landmark project for Scotland not only as it was so close to home but also because the project was solely for straight handrails, mitres and bullnose ends - an area of the market where we have traditionally been uncompetitive."
Haldane has been at the forefront of implementing lean manufacturing processes which has enabled the company to dramatically improve lead time and reduce costs to be able to compete in areas such as standard straight handrails.
Forrester added, "We have built an enviable reputation in the bespoke handrail market however this project has shown that we can be very competitive when it comes to standard handrails with no compromises on our levels of quality, finish or service."
